Hello Jorrit,
Unfortunaty not, I've looked up at Jo Klatts booklet, but he mentions only the year of production which is 1956 and the former price of
1.420,00 DM. The very similar HM 2 was built 1500 times.
Good luck Andreas

Hi,

I believe I have paid 150 Euro.
Commercial this items are a disaster ( in my opinion ).
But for me its worth a fortune.
They are beautiful !!!
And it depends of the country you live.
I think that for example in China or the USA you can get a good price.

Braun HM4

Hei,

Thanks for your quick response! They are indeed beautiful. I live in Belgium and you pay around 200-300 euro's for one (is what I've learned just today), but you can easily get more than that ( 500-600 euros IF working) if you find someone with a sweet tooth for vinyl records and/or vintage goodies (in bidding).
I don't know how many of this model were produce, do you? However, I have noticed that the legs of my unit aren't straight like the ones I have found online and in the listings on radiomuseum.org, they point outwards and have black protective caps on the ends.

So, how' the sound working for you? :)

Best regards

Hi Evelinolio,
if the legs are not straight your unit is probably a MM4 and not a HM4. Maybe you can upload a picture?

Gerhard

MM4?

#8 Beitrag von Evelinolio » 22.04.2014, 21:55

PS, I looked it up on radiomuseum and google, but the MM4 still looks different. It resembles the HM4 most, perhaps this is just another edition (year built differs) or something?

Hello Evelinolio,
you unit is definitly a HM4 and not a MM4, but the legs are probably not the original ones. The HM-series was designed by Herbert Hirche, whereas the MM -series was a factory design by Werkstätten Thun, a furniture manufacturer working for Braun as a supplier.

Gerhard
